Why I Built This Website
Hi, I’m Ashish. If you’re reading this, you’ve arrived early. There isn’t much here yet, this is the first thing I’ve written on this site. So before anything else, let me tell you why it exists. Something that I kept wishing someone had told me earlier I’ve made plenty of mistakes. Some small, some that cost me months. And almost every time, once I finally figured the thing out, I had the same thought: somebody already knew this, but i didn’t find anything on the web. I wish someone could have told me! Nobody did. Not because people were unkind, it’s just that most of what we learn stays in our heads. We solve something, we move on, and the lesson goes nowhere. That bothered me enough to do something about it. Learn from the mistakes of others; you can’t live long enough to make them all yourself. — Eleanor Roosevelt I came across that line a while ago and it stuck. If it’s true, then writing down what I’ve got wrong isn’t just useful to me. It might save somebody else the months I lost. So this is what this place is for Ashish Says is where I write down what I learn, what I build, the mistakes I make, and the ideas I run into. Not as an expert. I’m not one. I’m someone who has been stuck, restarted, taken on work I wasn’t ready for, and figured it out along the way. The blogs will cover the practical side of that — operations and systems, education and how people actually learn, AI tools that earn their place, writing and SEO, and what leading a team has taught me. Things I’ve done, not things I’ve read about. I’m not promising a schedule. I’d rather publish something worth your time occasionally than something forgettable every week. But more is coming, and it’s coming soon. There’s a second half to this Alongside the blogs there’s a Stories section, and it’s a different thing entirely. I wasn’t the kid on the playground. I was the introvert who found his friends on a TV screen — cartoons, series, films. Somewhere in there I started making up my own stories, and I never really stopped. Some of them stayed with me for years. I’ve written a few already. I’ll be linking those in the Stories section so they’re not scattered anymore, and I’ll add to them as I go. That section will fill up properly once I’ve got a few blogs published — one thing at a time. That’s it, for now A new website with one post on it is a strange thing to publish. But I’d rather start badly than keep waiting for the right moment, because I’ve waited for the right moment before and it doesn’t arrive. If something I write here saves you a month, or makes one decision easier, that’s the whole point of it. Thanks for being early. I’m still a student.
